Man Charged With Possessing Child Porn
Crime

A St. Paul man with more than 18,000 explicit images on his computer has been charged with 15 counts of possessing child pornography.

According to a criminal complaint, Douglas Luke Robinette, 24, became the subject of an investigation by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in 2008 after authorities traced him to an explicit image posted to a Google group.

When authorities executed a search warrant of Robinette's residence, they obtained a laptop containing more than 18,000 images and 900 videos of child pornography. Robinette admitted to posting child pornography on the Internet at the time of the search.

Each charge carries a maximum sentence of five years or a $5,000 fine or both.
