Officials Give Motorcyclists Chance to Test Skills

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety are giving motorcyclists a chance to test their rider skills, and be evaluated by a certified instructor.
    
Officials will have the Motorcycle Safety Center's SMARTrainer at the Vintage Motorcycle Show on Friday and Saturday at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.
    

Mahtomedi Public Schools Hosts Community Picnic

Mahtomedi community members are invited to attend a free picnic to celebrate the end of the school year.

The picnic is hosted by Mahtomedi Public Schools teachers and the Mahtomedi Education Association. It includes hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, desserts, and beverages.

Comic book fans will converge on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds this weekend for the Midwest Comic Book Association's SpringCon.
    
More than 225 comic book creators are expected at this year's comic book carnival.
    
The event opens to the public at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Roseville Home Goes up in Flames for Firefighter Training

Roseville firefighters are getting hands-on emergency experience – and the community is invited to watch.

A home on Dale Street North is being demolished, and the owner agreed to let the city burn it so firefighters can get experience in a real fire situation. Firefighters are required to get at least 400 hours of training before they are certified.
