When Will it Sink? Club Leaves Car on Lake to Raise Money

It's part cautionary tale, part fundraiser.  There's a car sitting out on Buffalo Lake.  And there are no plans to rescue it before it sinks to the bottom.

The Rotary Club of Buffalo put the car there.  A flyer advertising it says the car "is clean, the engine, transmission, gas, oil and all fluids have been removed."

Tomatoes Will Fly This Weekend in Hastings

Afton Alps in Hastings will look more like Spain during its famous Tomato Festival this weekend.  That's where the first annual Midwest Tomato Fest will take place.

The gates open for the event at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 31st.  The tomato fight is slated to take place from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

The event will also feature live music, food, and a beer garden.

Sparky the Sea Lion at Como Zoo 'Goes Green'

The Como Zoo’s Sparky the Sea Lion helps to “go green” over the holiday weekend.

The sea lion is one of the most popular animals at the Como Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul.

Not only can Sparky do all sorts of tricks, she is teaching children and families how to recycle.
